Jean-Louis’ top wine! Grenache and Alicante Bouschet from Carcassonne. 6-month whole cluster maceration and then 1-year élevage in large barrels. Inky and ripe dark fruits, iron, minerals, and herbs. Very rich and concentrated with a good vein of acidity. Lots of tannins here. Would match with food or maybe put away for a bit. A natural wine that could stand up to any of the classic big boys.
